Clarendon County, SC: Crews will be replacing railroad ties, which will require short-term closures at various locations during the scheduled work periods outlined below.
Work Schedule
Railroad tie replacement is planned for two timeframes: January 12 through January 15, and January 19 through January 26. The second phase includes weekend work.
What Residents Should Know
A Google Map has been created to show the most current and revised closure dates for each crossing. Some crossings will remain open throughout the project to ensure continued access for emergency services. By selecting a specific crossing on the map, residents can view the expected closure date along with any additional notes related to that location.

Understanding the Map Icons
Before the project begins:
Black train icons mark the exact locations of crossings scheduled for closure. Purple star icons indicate the starting locations for each railroad tie crew. Pink three-dot icons identify crossings that will operate as one-way in and out locations. Blue flag icons show where flagging operations will occur; these areas are not full road closures.
Once work is underway:
Black train icons continue to mark crossing locations. Orange X icons indicate crossings that are currently closed. Green check marks show crossings where work has been completed and the roadway has reopened. Yellow caution icons signal a change in the closure schedule and prompt users to review updated information.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and use alternate routes when necessary. County officials thank residents for their patience and cooperation as this essential railroad maintenance is completed.
