Late-Night Violence in Manning: Two Near-Fatal Incidents, Repeated Damage, and a Community Demanding Action

PSA Newsroom reviewed police reports, body-worn camera footage, and multiple civilian videos tied to repeated late-night disturbances in downtown Manning—raising urgent questions for town leadership.

Manning is widely known as a small, charming town—where families shop downtown, neighbors know one another, and community events bring people together. But after midnight, a very different reality has been unfolding—one many residents never see until it is too late.

Over the past several years, late-night parties and gatherings in the downtown corridor—particularly around Brunch-O-Holics on North Brooks Street—have repeatedly escalated into violence, leaving people seriously injured and local business owners paying thousands of dollars in damage.

PSA Newsroom reviewed police documentation, body-worn camera footage, and multiple civilian videos connected to two major incidents: December 26, 2025, and March 11, 2024. Together, they reveal a disturbing pattern that town leadership can no longer ignore.

December 26, 2025 — Violence Erupts Outside Brunch-O-Holics After Midnight

Shortly after 2:00 a.m. on December 26, 2025, Manning Police Department officers and Clarendon County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of an active fight in the immediate area of Brunch-O-Holics (15 N. Brooks Street).

Civilian video from the scene shows a highly volatile environment outside the business, with aggressive verbal threats and escalating tension that quickly turned physical.

Knocked Unconscious in the Street

One of the most disturbing clips from that night shows a man struck and knocked unconscious, collapsing in the middle of North Brooks Street. Moments later, he is dragged from the roadway to the sidewalk as chaos continues around him.

According to police documentation, officers found the victim bleeding heavily from multiple areas, including a deep laceration to his left forearm. The injury was so severe that officers applied a tourniquet to slow life-threatening blood loss before EMS arrived. The victim was transported to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Panic After Claims of Gunfire

As the disturbance continued, another video captures a bystander yelling that there was a gun and shots were being fired. While police did not confirm gunfire, the claim triggered immediate panic as people fled the area in multiple directions.

During the chaos, at least one woman later reported suffering a broken leg while attempting to escape a large group fighting in the street.

Property Damage Near Brunch-O-Holics

Police documented significant property damage in the immediate area, including a shattered storefront window and interior damage. According to reports, the damage included:

  • A destroyed glass window
  • Damage to an interior display platform
  • Vinyl flooring cut and requiring replacement

The total documented damage from the December 26 incident reached $1,500, leaving another downtown business owner responsible for repairs stemming from late-night violence.

March 11, 2024 — A Previous Night of Chaos That Nearly Turned Fatal

More than a year earlier, downtown Manning experienced a remarkably similar night. On March 11, 2024, a large late-night gathering in the same downtown corridor escalated into a massive brawl involving dozens of people.

Glass Door Shattered — Artery Severed

During the March 11 disturbance, a downtown storefront suffered severe damage when an individual punched through a glass door. In doing so, the individual severed an artery, resulting in catastrophic blood loss.

Emergency medical response was critical. Without rapid intervention, the individual likely would have bled to death. Businesses were left with thousands of dollars in damage, and the incident was later reported on by regional media.

Two Near-Fatal Incidents. One Location. One Pattern.

  • Both incidents occurred after midnight.
  • Both involved large, uncontrolled crowds spilling into the street.
  • Both were centered in the same downtown nightlife corridor near Brunch-O-Holics.
  • Both resulted in shattered glass storefronts and costly damage.
  • Most troubling, both involved near-fatal arterial bleeding requiring emergency intervention.
A question the town can no longer avoid:
How many near-deaths will it take before meaningful action is taken—and will it take someone dying before change happens?

A Call for Leadership and Accountability

Residents and business owners are now asking questions that demand answers. Why do these incidents continue to originate from the same location? Why are late-night parties repeatedly allowed to grow beyond control? And why are business owners and first responders left to deal with the aftermath?

PSA Newsroom urges the Mayor of Manning and town leadership to take immediate action—through enforcement, permitting review, security requirements, operating-hour restrictions, or other lawful measures—before the next incident becomes fatal.

This is no longer just about nightlife. This is about public safety.

PSA Newsroom will continue to document these incidents, review public records, and report on what is happening after dark in Manning. If you have video, photos, or firsthand information related to similar late-night disturbances, contact our newsroom.

I actually saw the blood and broken glass on the street after the 2024 incident. Funny how our local newspaper never gave it a mention.
