MANNING, SC — Police arrested a Manning man Sunday evening after a week marked by several attempted armed robberies at local businesses.
Clarendon County deputies and Manning Police worked together to track down and arrest 47-year-old Tyrone Shannon near Seacoast Church. For days, the attempted robberies had businesses on edge, and people around town were getting nervous.
Authorities haven’t shared details about each attempted robbery, but they say Shannon didn’t actually manage to steal anything before his arrest.
The Sheriff’s Office is now urging everyone, especially business owners, to double-check their security and stay alert, especially at night.
Shannon is currently sitting in the Clarendon County Detention Center, while Police are still sorting through the investigation, so more charges could be coming as they keep interviewing witnesses and reviewing evidence.
Thank you to the Manning PD and CCSO dispatch and officers, for their roles in capturing the suspect without incident. We’re thankful that everyone is safe and pray for the continued protection of our LEOs as they work this holiday season to maintain Law & Order in our communities…
Police are asking residents to keep their eyes open and report anything suspicious to local law enforcement.
